Founder & Executive Director
Jen Millen
Jen Millen, Executive Director of the Muay Thai program here at Ares, is a 4th Dan in ITF Taekwon-do. She has been doing Taekwon-do for nearly 2 decades and has competed overseas several times on behalf of Team Canada (ITF); most recently achieving 1st place at the World Cup in both Mexico and Argentina.
She has also completed a 4yr Bachelor of Science- majoring in Biology and minoring in Sport Studies & Physical Education.
At the age of 16, Jen’s passion for martial arts expanded into kickboxing. She would finish a Taekwon-do class and run down the street to a local gym to make it in time for the kickboxing class. That passion quickly grew and Jen competed locally, taking her first sanctioned fight at the age of 20.
She looks forward to fostering an inclusive martial arts community and sharing all of the skills she’s learned over the years.
“Keep an eye out for our tournaments!” she says.

Coach
Daniel Redman
Daniel Redman started his martial arts career at the age of 10 at a small Taekwon-do club run out of a school gym in northern Alberta. He’s now a young looking 30 year old and has trained in kickboxing & muay thai over the years, alongside ITF Taekwon-do.
Competing in open tournaments across Alberta have offered great experience but Daniel’s competing highlights are traveling overseas to places like Italy, Amsterdam, Mexico, and Argentina for tournaments.
Besides the thrill of the competition, Daniel believes meeting new people and building connections with other martial artists around the world makes competitions even more valuable.
Daniel is passionate about personal growth. In addition to his martial arts career he has many hobbies and aspirations including photography, spartan and relay races, and marathons.
As important as it is to have personal goals, Daniel loves to see other people achieve their own goals and strives to help others grow and surpass their own expectations.
Daniel looks forward to sharing his knowledge and experience with others and can’t wait to see what the club can achieve as this amazing community develops.
